  2. We all have relations.

  3. This is what God wants more than anything.

  4. What is our relationship with our Creator?

  5. First let’s use the vowels to examine. …some wrong ideas about our relationship with God.

  6. A is for ATM Machine These people think God is just there to give us things.

  7. E is for Energy These people believe God is not a person, but rather, just a force in the universe.

  8. I is for Indifferent These people have a hard time believing God cares or even sees what happens to us.

  9. O is for Ogre These people Believe… God is a big mean man in the sky who is just waiting to judge the Earth & punish the people for their sins.

  10. U is for Unknowable These people think God is just a big mystery we can never comprehend.

  11. Sometimes Y (as in Why God?)These people resent God for something they don’t understand.

  12. Most People Just Do This

  13. There are Three Right Ways to Relate to God

  14. What is our positional relationship to Christ? The First is a Positional Relationship

  15. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are IN Christ Jesus.” Rom. 8:1 “Therefore, if anyone is IN Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”2 Cor. 5:17 "…we are IN Him that is true, even IN His Son Jesus Christ." 1 John 5:20

  16. The Second is a Legal Relationship Believers are not mere acquaintances, but are sons & daughters of God. His legal children!

  17. “… you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” …we are children of God, and if children, then heirs…”Rom. 8:15-17 “…‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”Mat. 25:34

  18. Being God’s Childhas it’s Privileges

  19. The Third is aHeart Relationship But FRIENDS of God! No Longer Strangers

  20. “…Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God.” James 2:23 “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13 “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends…” John 15:15

  21. The Three Ways We Relate to God Positional: Not Out but In Legal: Not Acquaintance but Child & Heir Heart: Not Stranger but Friend

  22. Finally, The suffix, ‘ship’ means, ‘to continue’ Once we begin a relation‘ship’ with God, we must continuerelating. Ships are made to go forward. .

  23. “…continue in the faith grounded and settled… not moved away from the hope of the gospel…”Col. 1:23

  24. What is the Sinner‘s Prayer? This is a prayer we can pray when we are ready to admit we are sinners and need Christ’s forgiveness. It must be prayed with faith in our hearts and a readiness to have a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.

  25. You Should Pray this Prayer If : If you never have before You have in the past, but you think you would mean it more today You have been walking afar off and you want to come back You want to set an example and show others how it is done You just like to give your heart to Jesus again & again

  26. Do you want to meet Jesus as your savior right now? Do you believe He died to save you from your sins & that He rose from the dead? Do you believe that He is waiting to save you right now? Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner & need your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins. I now turn from sin. Come into my heart I pray.

  27. “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.”John 1:12

  28. What did you learn today? How does this lesson apply to our lives today? What do you want to say about Jesus today? “If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”Rom. 10:9

  29. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you… …Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you who are half-hearted towards God.”James 4:8 WNT
