  2. About Hakim Hakim is a 12 year old boy in grade 6 and is from the city of Tulkarm. One day he was in the street hiding from the military, when they could they would throw rocks at them. When the soldiers got angry and chased after them, the boys ran away fast. What Hakim didn’t realize is that he got shot in his leg, he kept running anyway. He fell down in the street, his friends came back to help him, but the soldiers caught up and pushed them away. The soldiers spared his life, but Hakim knows that they wanted to kill him.

  3. Questions I had after reading • Why are the boys throwing stones at the soldiers? • Why didn’t the soldier kill Hakim? • Why is the Israeli army invading Tulkarm?
