  2. Who were the Vikings? The Vikings were from Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. They invaded Great Britain, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Russia,and Spain. A well known Viking, Leif Erikson, sailed from Iceland to Greenland and on to Newfoundland. He also sailed down the East Coast of North America to New York City. the

  3. What did the Vikings eat? The Vikings ate twice a day because of their busy life. Sheep, goats, horses, pigs, cattle, turkey, and chickens were raised then eaten. Also eaten were ducks, gulls, and their eggs. Fishermen caught fish and eels. They would smoke, air-dry, and salt their meat for winter.

  4. What did the Vikings wear? The Viking men wore long shirts made out of wool and cloth trousers that was held by a drawstring. They would wear soft shoes or long boots made out of leather. In battle, men would wear a helmet made out of iron with a metal chain to protect themselves. The Viking women wore long dresses, over the dresses women wore tunics made of wool or linen. Tunics were made from two pieces of cloth joined together at the shoulder by straps. The straps were fastened by brooches. They also wore shawls fastened around there shoulders with a brooch.

  5. The Viking's Ship The Vikings ship was very seaworthy and strong. The ship was about 65-82 feet long and was about 16-18 feet wide. 30-40 inches of the ship could carry 50-80 people, their food, and equipment .When there was wind they used a sail, but when there was no wind, they used long sticks called ores.
