  2. Who Is Your Role Model? • Many want to be like a famous person today • Others want to be like a well-known Bible character • I want to be like Hur (Ex. 17:10-12; 24:14)

Hur Was A Supporter • Many want a leading role, but not a supporting role • Will you support the preaching of truth (Acts 15:26; Rom. 16:1-5; Phil. 2:30)? • Will you support the eldership (1 Thess. 5:12-13; Heb. 13:17)? • Will you support your husband’s role as an elder or deacon (1 Tim. 3; Tit. 1)?

  4. Hur Was A Supporter • Will you support your family at home (Prov. 31:10ff)? • Will you support personal evangelism (Jn. 1:40-42; 12:20-22)? • Will you support the worship assembly (Heb. 10:25)? • Will you support the brethren outside the assembly (Acts 21:5)?

  5. Hur Did What He Could • Many want to be what they cannot be instead of doing what they can do • The woman who anointed Jesus (Mk. 14:8) • The man with talents / ability (Mt. 25:15) • The diversity of gifts (Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12:4ff; 1 Pet. 4:9-11)

  6. Hur Was Reliable • Many talk about doing great things but will not be reliable with small things • Are you faithful / reliable in the small things (Zech. 4:10)? • Are you faithful / reliable in little (Mt. 25:21,23; Lk. 16:10)?

  7. I Want to Be Like Hur • The “small and the great” will be blessed (Psa. 115:13) • The “small and the great” are in the grave (Job 3:19) • The “small and the great” will stand before God in judgment (Rev. 20:12) • The “small and the great” will be in heaven (Rev. 11:18; 19:5
