POINT OF VIEWWho is telling the story/Writer’s choice of narrator 1st Person- • The narrator is a character in the story • Uses pronouns like I and me tor refer to themselves • Describes his/her own thoughts, feelings, and impressions • Does NOT know what other characters are thinking 3rd Person Limited- • The narrator is NOT in the story • Narrator tells thoughts and feelings of only ONE character 3rd Person Omniscient- • The narrator is NOT in the story • Narrator tells the thoughts and feelings of ALL the characters

PLOTThe action of the story Exposition- • The beginning of the story that introduces the character, setting, and hints of conflict Rising Action- • Shows how the conflict unfolds and builds suspense Climax- • The most exciting moment, turning point in the story, and often a change for the main character Falling Action- • The ease in suspense and main character finishes resolving the conflict Resolution- • The tie up of loose ends/concluding statement for overall conflict
