  8. Look at our garden! It needs a tidy!

  9. Our Aim • To encourage wildlife to the Secret Garden and to grow various plants. How will we do this? • We need adults, teachers and parents, to help clear up the Secret Garden. • Watch out for newsletters looking for volunteers. • The gardening club will continue throughout the year.

  10. Once the garden is clear: • Classes will be able to use the garden. • Wildlife will visit it. • Plants and flowers can be planted. • We could grow vegetables. • And lots more . . .

  15. Energy!

  16. Our Aim • We are trying to reduce how much energy and water we use. • Turn off lights when you are not in the room. • Try using more natural light and use the lights less. • Turn off computers at the end of the day. • Turn of monitors and interactive boards when you are not using them. • Make sure taps are turned off.

  17. Energy monitors • The Eco committee have decided that we will have energy monitors in each class. Please make sure you do this. • These monitors will make sure lights, interactive boards, computer monitors and taps are turned off. • Use of checklists will be revised.

  18. Be careful! We will be doing spot inspections.

  20. What are Eco Points? • Class competition • Earn points • Regular updates • Winning class each term! • Bottle tops

  21. How can you earn points? • Energy spot checks • Picking up litter • Eco research • Eco friendly behaviour in or out of the class
