The American public used over 32 MMT and 32.3 MMT was exported . NIGERIA’S MILLING INDUSTRY A SUCCESS STORY+ THE LARGEST EMPLOYER IN THE NON-OIL SECTOR.+ THE MOST ADVANCED SECTOR IN THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY.+ CURRENT INSTALLED FLOUR MILLING CAPACITY AT 6 MMT.+ U.S. WHEAT IMPORTS BEGAN IN THE 1960’S AND AVERAGED 75 TMT,INCREASING TO 220 TMT IN THE 1970’S, TO 2.74 MMT IN 2007/08.+ NIGERIA HAS NOW BEEN AMONG THE TOP-3 GLOBAL IMPORTERS OF U.S.WHEAT OVER THE LAST 5-YEARS.+ U.S. WHEAT REPRESENTS A90% MARKET SHARE IN NIGERIA.
