HOW TO TREAT PAIN WITHOUT DRUGS - CONVENTIONAL TREATMENT OF

HOW TO TREAT PAIN WITHOUT DRUGS - CONVENTIONAL TREATMENT OF PAIN Pain is usually described as a distressing sensation in a particular part of the body. It is an unpleasant or hurtful sensation resulting from the stimulation of nerve endings. Pain is a complicated process that involves interaction between a number of natural chemicals found in the brain and spinal cord. The reason pain occurs in your body is to protect you. Neurotransmitters, as these chemicals are called handle the task of transmitting nerve impulses from one cell to another. Imagine it this way, that a message of injury is transmitted from the injured area directly to your brain, which registers the sensation known as pain. The brain perceives this pain and sends the pain message back to the injured area. This process happens very quickly within nanoseconds. If your brain registers pain, you typically stop doing what caused it. It goes back to the "fight or flight" instinct. Pain is the body's way of letting you know that what you are doing is harmful, and that you need to stop. Like the best way to keep good health is to follow a healthy natural diet regimen, conventional treatment of pain should be preferred rather than treating it with drugs. Our medical systems have a poor track record for treating pain. A recent report from the CDC’s national Center for health statistics showed in 2008, accidental deaths from prescription pain killers had surpassed deaths from automobile accidents in the United States. This is from a huge river of prescription pain medications being produced and distributed in United States through our broken medical system. In a recent medical conference a Dr. that teaches at Revolutionary technique for treating chronic pain mentioned how he was a fourth generation primary care physician. He looked back to see what his great, great grandfather had used for pain Treatments and basically it came down to preparations from willow bark and the opium poppy. These are the origins o

  5. Dr. Gerhauser In a recent medical conference a Dr. that teaches at Revolutionary technique for treating chronic pain mentioned how he was a fourth generation primary care physician. He looked back to see what his great, great grandfather had used for pain Treatments and basically it came down to preparations from willow bark and the opium poppy. These are the origins of all of our present day drug treatments of the aspirin-like NSAID drugs and the multitude of addicting, synthetic opioid drugs. So put another way, our treatment of pain has not changed much in 200 years. Email: lynnetaylor@naturalfoodsdiet.org

  6. Dr. Gerhauser Sure, we have developed techniques to deliver these drugs deeper and deeper into the body such as opioid pumps and injections of steroid with powerful steroid anti- inflammatories into the spine. But as with most of modern medicine, these treatments ignore the root-causes of pain and have many side effects, complications and, in the case of the spinal injections, usually only short-term relief. All for potential catastrophic complications like paralysis and death. Email: lynnetaylor@naturalfoodsdiet.org

  7. Dr. Gerhauser You might ask why are they steroid epidural injections so popular despite giving minimal benefit and then only short-term relief and dangerous risks? The answer lies in the money. These treatments are covered handsomely by payers like Medicare and commercial insurance companies. The old adage “if you pay people to do stuff, they will do more stuff.” The drug companies and the failed western medicine paradigm are the cause of our poor record of any advancement in pain treatment. 8. Dr. Gerhauser The Chronic Pain EpidemicAccording to the International Association of the Study of Pain 43% of Americans have chronic or recurring pain. 20% of people have chronic moderate to severe pain. 1/2-2/3 of these people are unable to exercise, enjoy normal sleep, perform household chores, drive a car, walk or have sexual relations. 39% of those with chronic pain stated their Pain is inadequately managed. The economic burden of chronic pain is equivalent to the burden of cancer and heart disease. All symptoms of chronic pain can be easily tackled by following a healthy lifestyle and nutritional natural diet specifications. Majority of muscular pain cases arise due to unhealthy lifestyle and improper fitness routines. Email: lynnetaylor@naturalfoodsdiet.org
