Capabilities: Prepares/maintains essential combat routes in the brigade area; assists in assault of fortified positions; assists maneuver units in assault breach of obstacles; obstacle breach operations; field engineering advice, assistance, and limited equipment capability to maneuver elements to construct fighting positions for individuals and weapon systems; emplaces and/or assists in the emplacement of mines; creates obstacles to delay enemy mobility including berms, ditches, log/timber obstacles, and wire entanglements; prepares targets for demolition; carries out demolitions if required; when required, fights as Infantry. Capabilities:Organic force protection and mobility support; limited countermobility, survivability and sustainment engineering support by taking risk in force protection and mobility support; reduction assets for existing natural and reinforcing obstacles in open, rolling terrain, complex terrain and urban environments; medium weight bridging assets for limited wet and dry gap crossing; Engineer Reconnaissance Teams to augment the RSTA Squadron by taking risk in force protection and mobility support; emplaces and provides technical assistance in the emplacement of mines; advice to maneuver commanders on employment of scatterable mines; and performs combat infantry missions in the role of Infantry. Capabilities: Provides training readiness and oversight of assigned sapper platoons; Provides battle command for 3-5 sapper, assault, obstacle, clearance, or tactical bridge platoons operating as an EMT in the execution of mobility, countermobility, survivability missions; Improve lane markings in the BCT area; Can provide 660 manhours/day for general construction labor tasks to vertical, horizontal, or light construction companies during general engineering missions.
