  2. Our animal is the snapping turtle. The snapping turtle has a long neck, a big shell, and the shell colors are green and gray. Snapping turtles can grow up to 10 -15 inches.

  3. All about their babies. The babies take 80-90 days to hatch. The babies are called baby snapping turtles. The baby snapping turtle looks smaller than the mom.

  4. All about their habitat. The snapping turtles habitat is fresh water and near land.

  5. WHAT THEY EAT. They eat snakes, other turtles, herons, crayfish and fish. The catch their food by overpowering the prey and swallowing it whole.

  6. The snapping turtles predatorS. The snapping turtles predators are skunks, raccoons and owls.

  7. How it protects itself. The shell protects the snapping turtle because it looks like a rock. It’s shell is camouflage for rocks.

  8. Where it lives. This animal lives to 10-20 years.

  9. Why we picked this animal. It is interesting because it lives to 10-20 years. Snapping turtles are special because their babies takes 80-90 days to hatch. We like this animal because it is interesting.
