Block templates are ideal for creating visually appealing menus, whereas image galleries are best for showcasing multiple images. Avoid using these templates for text-heavy content or unordered lists. Common issues include maintaining consistent image sizes and heading lengths. For further assistance, reach out to the Creative Media or Marketing teams. Enhance your web pages with the right templates by following best practices outlined in this workshop.

Don’t use these templates for… Block images: • To present information in sections where there’s a lots of text – ‘Menu’ templates are better for this • For a list that you might want to reorder Eg, see http://www.derby.ac.uk/podcasts • For video menus – Menu (Videos) is better • For lists which expand – eg podcasts – ‘Menu of thumbnails’ is better
Don’t use these templates for… Image galleries: • For images which require lots of text underneath • As a menu without adding explanatory text eg http://www.derby.ac.uk/careers/volunteering-newsletter
Common problems Block templates: • Size of images must be the same • Heading length should be consistent for each row • Make sure your heading links and image links match Eg, see www.derby.ac.uk/podcasts
