Who Do We Serve? • Citizens of Franklin Co. who need emergency assistance. • Employed but not making ends meet. • Employed but had extenuating circumstances such as injury, medical problems or other situations that have put them behind. • Recently unemployed • Long term unemployed • Living on fixed income

  11. How Do We Operate? $150.00 maximum 18 month waiting period Appointment ID’s required Charity Tracker Interview Budget Pledge Reach out to other non-profits Payment always made to party owed

Counseling Process • Client calls for an appointment • At the appointment, we gather ID and personal info • Client fills out a Charity Tracker form • Client is assigned to a counselor • Counselor gathers information about the specific need of the client • Counselor works with client to serve their need • As an example, the counselor may call AEP to pledge toward an overdue electric bill • Reach out to other non-profits for further assistance • Counselor would engage client with budget counseling

  14. What Are Our Hours? We see clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

  15. Why? Helping Hands is the most referred non-profit in the Roanoke Valley from the United Way 211 system!
