Availability of other inputs • Fertilizer availability sufficient in all the states • Specific inputs like micronutrients, bio-inoculants and liming materials to be planned/arranged • Seed treatment in Paddy to be promoted in Tamilnadu Promotion of flood tolerant varieties in Orissa, Bihar and WB 6

  8. Demonstration of Agronomic practices • Direct seeded rice in most paddy growing states • Community paddy nurseries 150 acres/district in Bihar • Double transplanting of overage seedling in paddy in Bihar and West Bengal • Promotion of crop diversification with maize in rice wheat cropping states • Promotion of intercropping of millets, pulses and oilseeds • Broad bed furrow and ridge furrow planting for soybean in Madhya Pradesh • Pest and disease management in all states 7

  9. Resource allocation and monitoring mechanism established • In season monitoring mechanisms at district and state HQ are established • Funds for meeting contingency situations from state plans apportioned in Bihar • Allocation of fund from ongoing Govt. Schemes to meet contingency situations 8
