  18. Doctor‘s Programme (3 - 4 years = 6 - 8 semester) • • open for students with a Master‘s degree or equivalency in biology or environmental sciences related to ecology, biodiversity, evolution, nature conservation, etc. • •Third-Party-Funding of the PhD project is required: salary, fellowships or governmental fundings of the native or the guest country, e.g. DAAD or others. • • Proof of Scientific English language skills. • • 20 ECTS points required during the study period. • • PhD thesis: cumulative, written in ENGLISH. • • Thesis Committee: 3 professors as supporting group. • • Doctor's degree: Dr. rer. nat. or PhD Study programmes in Biological Diversity and Ecology

  19. Fast Track Option from Master to PhD • • for excellent students, who will continue their M.Sc. research towards the PhD degree. • • The M.Sc. thesis is done during the PhD study. • • The M.Sc. thesis must be accepted before delivery of the dissertation.Major advantage: continuity of research from Master to PhD without loss of time. • Prerequisite: third-party-funding for PhD must be acquired.
