FAMILYI am one of five kids so family has always been important to me. Knowing where you come from and always having a strong support system is something I value and believe everyone should experience. I look up to every one of my siblings because they are all hardworking and successful in whatever they do . Even though we are all different in certain aspects of our lives we are all so close and I consider each one of them my best friends.
ARTHURGrowing up Arthur was my favorite cartoon. I would hurry home from school everyday so that I could watch this amazing 30 minute show. I think that the main reason I enjoyed this show so much is because each episode had a valuable lesson that I could in some how relate to. I also enjoyed how each episode ended with a solution to solve the problem and I have always been a sucker for happy endings.
SPICE GIRLSMy older sister were all Spice Girl fanatics and I wanted to do everything my sisters did so I quickly became just as obsessed with the all girl pop band. At first I just loved them because everyone around me did, but then even after the hype surrounding them died down they were al I listened to. I was experiencing my “girl power” phase and that is exactly what their music promoted.
Spanish Immersion I went to an elementary school that offered a program called Spanish Immersion. Since kindergarten I was taught everything in Spanish from math to science to writing. There was only one hour designated per day to teach students grammar in English. By the age of 9 I was completely fluent in Spanish. This program has opened so many doors for me from working as a translator to having the opportunity of taking on a second major.
HIGH SCHOOLThroughout high school I loved being involved in extracurricular activities. I played varsity soccer and basketball all four years and was a part of a group of senior girls called Rowdy Rooters. I met so many people and made great friends by participating in all of this. I hate missing out on things so I feel that the best way to create fun experiences and memories is to be as social as possible.
JOBSHaving a job is something that my parents have always stressed me on. The idea of having such a job has taught me a good deal about accountability as well as having to save and spend my own hard earned money with more responsibility.
BEYONCE KNOWLESEver since I was about 13 Beyoncé has been my idol. In my opinion she is the perfect example of an independent woman that works hard and has earned everything she has. I use her and her life as motivation to do my best in whatever I do knowing that I have to give it my all if I want to have the lifestyle I hope to in the future.
COLLEGEGrowing up I always knew that I would attend college in state. Both of my parents graduated from Washing State and as soon as I came for a visit I fell in love with the campus. The college town feel is so comforting and the perfect environment to take the first steps into become completely independent.
ALPHA PHII grew up living with three older sisters so when I came to college I didn’t want to lose that feeling of always having older and mature girls to look up to. That is why I decided to go through recruitment and join Alpha Phi sorority. So far I have made so many good friends and cant wait to spend the next couple of years getting the know everyone and being a part of something bigger.
ADVERTISEMENTI have always been a creative person so when coming up with what I wanted to major in, advertisement was what seemed most appealing to my skills as well as my interests.I love how an ad can catch a persons attention and pull them in with simply a picture or catchy phrase. My dream job would be to work for a major athletic company -NIKE- and manage commercial and advertisement.
