  2. Immunotherapy is a biologic therapy which is a type of cancer treatment that boosts the body's natural defenses for fighting against cancer. It uses substances made by the human body or in a laboratory for improving or restoring the immune system’s function. A certain type of Immunotherapyattacks cancer or slows its spreading to other parts of the body. And others make it easier for the immune system to destroy cancer cells.

  3. Side Effects of Immunotherapy Skin reactions- Redness, dryness, and blistering of skin are common reactions. The skin on the fingertips might crack. It also becomes more sensitive to the sunlight. A lot of itching and scratching may break the skin; this makes it prone to the infections. Flu-like symptoms- Fatigue, fever, weakness, chills, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, body aches, and high/ low blood pressure are the possible side effects. They’re especially common in a non-specific immunotherapies and an oncolytic virus therapy.

  4. Other possible side effects are: •Muscle pain • Shortness of breath • Swelling of legs • Sinus or congestion • Headaches • Weight gain • Diarrhea • Hormonal changes like hypothyroidism • Cough There can be other side effects (not listed here) as well depending upon the health issues of the patient.
