  1. Stay Cool this Summer at the 10 Best Resort Pools in the U.S.

  2. THE RITZ CARLTON | Paradise Valley, Arizona This $39 million luxury development will bring Arizona’s second Ritz-Carlton resort to Paradise Valley as well as shopping, residences and plenty of other luxury amenities. With the expected ritz and glitz of the resort comes equally glamorous pools. Spanning nearly 400 feet, once completed the main pool will be one of the longest resort pools in the country. Gorgeous views of surrounding Camelback, Mummy and McDowell Mountains create the perfect outdoor ambience.

  3. FOUR SEASONS | Hualalai, Hawaii As if one pool wasn’t enough, try seven pools at the Four Seasons Hualalai on the Kona-Kohala Coast resort. The must-see here, though, is King’s Pond, which is sculpted out of natural lava rock and is easily one of the best resort pools to visit in the country. In addition, there are more than 4,000 tropical fish from 98 species to see, making you feel like a kid at the aquarium.

  4. AMANGANI | Jackson, Wyoming Wyoming may not initially make you think of expansive outdoor pools, but the hotel company, Aman, has always gone against the grain. Their Amanagani ultra-luxury resort features a 115-foot outdoor pool surrounded by stunning views of the Teton mountain range and Snake River. The pool is finished in frost-colored quartzite tiles and linked to a 113-foot whirlpool. It’s also heated year-round, so even in the dead of cold Wyoming winter guests can float on to their heart’s desires in one of the best resort pools.

  5. AMANGIRI | Canyon Point, Utah Amangani’s sister resort, Amangiri, presents equally stunning poolside views in a very different setting. In fact, the entire resort was designed around the main pool, embracing Canyon Point’s natural rock escarpment. Also, the pool features an accompanying terrace with King-sized daybeds—some of which appear to float on the water—sun-loungers, a hot tub, and a fireplace. At long last, the perfect desert oasis with the best resort pool views.

  6. AUBERGE DE SOLEIL | Napa Valley, California Small but mighty, the pool at Auberge de Soleil in Napa Valley makes pristine use of blissful surroundings. Secluded in the resort, the pool oozes tranquility with shaded terraces, gauze-draped canopied lounges, and unbeatable Napa Valley greenery. Add a glass—or more realistically, a bottle— of wine, along with a savory culinary tour of the region and you have the perfect summer day.

  7. THE LONDON WEST HOLLYWOOD | Los Angeles, California Thanks to a swanky rooftop pool renovation completed in March—part of a more substantial hotel renovation totaling $11 million—The London West Hollywood has one of the best resort pools out there and is all ready for the bikini season. Spearheaded by AKA Architecture + Design, the improvements highlight the panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills, and the surroundings resemble an elegant English garden. Victorian-style loungers in classic fabrics line a large living wall, and private cabanas offer seclusion. While the reno stays true to the hotel’s original character, it also brings new charm that is glamorous enough for some fun in the sun.

  8. THE BEACH AT DREAM DOWNTOWN | New York, New York Listed as one of the best resort pools in the country, is New York City’s very own downtown destination that creates an unparalleled experience at its heated rooftop pool. Inspired by the glamour of the Côte d’Azur, The Beach at Dream Downtown is complete with real Hamptons-imported sand and private cabanas that include flat screen TVs and lounges. A word to the wise—bring your goggles for the pool’s eye-opening glass bottom, which overlooks the hotel lobby, making it one of the best resort pools.

  9. THE JOULE | Dallas, Texas Those afraid of heights may want to sit this one out. Otherwise, the glass-fronted rooftop pool at The Joule—which cantilevers eight feet beyond the hotel’s structure—is risky in all the right ways. If the sensation of swimming off of the building’s edge is too much, guests can skip the pool and enjoy stunning scenic rooftop views from the comfort of poolside chaise lounges, complete with food and beverage service.

  10. WALDORF ASTORIA | Orlando, Florida The Waldorf Astoria Orlando is home to one of the best resort pools with an azure oasis affording guests the chance to break free from the hustle and bustle of Orlando, Florida’s many theme park attractions. Two sparkling pools offer a much-needed refreshment with serene views of the resort’s waterways while poolside attendants care for your every need, and there is even a golf course for golf-obsessed travelers looking to get a game in.

  11. MANDALAY BAY BEACH | Las Vegas, Nevada What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Apparently, so does the beach. Thanks to Mandalay Bay Beach and Delano Beach Club, guests get to enjoy a little bit of the ocean in the desert with a sand-and-surf beach, lazy river ride, four pools, a jogging track, plus plenty of signature Vegas fun.
