  3. ASSIGNMENT (CONT.) • EVERYONE must present. • EVERYONE is to help his or her team and be a productive member.

  4. INTRODUCTION • Have an effective attention getter (question, fact, story, joke). • Have a clear thesis statement • What position are you taking on the issue? • What are the main points you will be covering in your presentation?

  5. BODY • Educate us about your environmental issue. What is it? • Why is this issue a major concern? • What can we do to fix it? (Present your solution) • Why should we care to fix it? Support your claims: • Use facts and statistics • Use concessions and refutations • Use ethos, logos, pathos • Cite your sources.

  6. CONCLUSION • Briefly re-cover your main points. • Make one last appeal to emotions (pathos). • Make your audience WANT to help. • Call to action. • What does your audience need to do right now? (i.e. sign a petition, join your organization, increase awareness, conserve energy, donate money, etc.)
