  4. Pillars of Operational Excellence and Focus of This Discussion Operational Excellence • Technical Objectives • ArchestrA SCADA Software • Foxboro SCD2200 RTU • Foxboro SCD5200 RTU • Substation Automation Configurator Level 3 (Multi-plant/Multi-site) Environment And Safety People Level 2 (Plant Floor/Area) Asset Level 1 (Resource/Asset) Control

  5. Technical Objectives – ArchestrA SCADA Software Windows 7/8 System Platform 2012 Better Graphics Management ArchestrA Graphics Disaster Recovery Tiered Historian Common Engineering with Process Control Better DNP performance Alignment with Foxboro PAC SOE and Engine Performance

  6. Which SCADA Products does Invensys Offer ? • Master Stations [MTU] are software based, which apply to either Unix or Windows OS on Common Off the Shelf Industrial Workstations and Servers • The preferred product is the ArchestrA SCADA product, formerly known as InFusion SCADA. Remote Terminal Units [RTU] are scaled according to performance and local industry specific requirements They use open SCADA protocols for communications PREFERRED legacy

  8. Pipeline SCADA System Architecture

  9. ArchestrA-SCADA Context • System Lists • Alarms • Off Normals • Tags • Modifiers • SOE Events DNP3 • ArchestrA SCADA IS System Platform • Adds SCADA Toolkit • ArchestrA-View Visualization • Enhanced ArchestrA Objects • New Device Integration Objects Network Monitoring • Ping • SNMP • NTP ICCP Conitel ArchestrA SCADA 2.1 ArchestrA View Objects Application Server 3.1 InTouch 10.1 ArchestrA

  10. Agenda 1 ArchestrA SCADA Software 2 • Graphics 3 • Device Integration 4 Extensions 5 • Summary

  11. Sequence of Events Events from all geographical locations, recorded at source with time synced clocks, are gathered and sorted into an SOE List. SOE lists allow external events to be correlated across the extent of the geography of the pipeline. SOE logs are essential for the determination of root cause.

  12. AGA 8 Gas Flow Configuration

  13. ArchestrA Application & Framer • Framer provides for configuration of common project specific items • Workstation Configurations • Security • Alarm Queries • Alarm Enunciators (External & Internal) • Navigation Panel

  14. Pipeline Leak Status Display Pipelines typically transport gas under high pressure. A leak can cause fire to break out, or starve local area’s of oxygen causing asphyxiation. Leak detection systems operate estimating a loss of gas volume from the pipeline. Continual real-time SCADA data is transferred to a state-estimator type model for determination of transient pipeline behaviour.

  15. Distributed HMI/SCADA $Valve $Analog $Discrete

  16. Fascia’s provide a way in which to select points and then control and visualize all attributes of the SCADA point. Typical Control Point Fascia – valve or pump control

  17. View Menu (Top) • Logon • File/View/Tools/Help • Object Selection • Scratchpad Trends

  18. List Displays (Bottom) • Alarms • Real-time • Historical • Events • Real-time • Historical • Off-Normal • Modifier • Active Tag • Sequence of Events

  19. Window Building • Data Quality Handling • Consistent Alarm Coloring, flash, additional character text and color built in the $SCADA objects • Configurable on a PER project basis SampleColor Mapping…

  20. Faceplates • $SCADAAnalog + $SCADADiscrete + $SCADAAccumulator Faceplates • Access all Object Information (Modifiers, value, colors, controls, tags, alarm limits, alarm/event directions, etc.)

  21. Operator Safety Tagging • 8 Types of Tags • Tags can be “stacked” • Record Keeping included in tag information (SQL Table) • Each tag type can be set to block or allow control in each direction • 8 Software tags also exist with comments – to allow applications to set conditions (i.e. .substituted value, application point, etc.)

  22. Device Driver Statistics and Control • Industry standard device statistic monitoring • Useful for maintenance personnel to study communications systems and RTU/PLC health • Force scans, failovers, In/Out of service, time syncs, etc.

  23. SCADA Network Objects • An object set to monitor the data network • Uses standard Ping and SNMP tools • Network Overview Display + Engine + History Node status displays • Alarms on loss of a network device

  24. SCADA Objects • In place of ArchestrA toolset • Builds project application objects • Objects contain enhanced features + all regular ArchestrA features

  25. SCADA Object Enhancements • 64 bits of Quality • Animation Code + Animation String • Control Enhancements • Lockout of point on multiple operator screens (control reserve / control authorize) • Alarm / no alarm on PV Change • Control Timer • Off-Normal Enhancements • Introduction of an “off-normal” state for Digitals • Alarm Limit Enable/Disable • Enable/Disable Alarm Limits per Alarm Limit parameter (i.e. disable/enable HiHi alarm, etc.) • Change behavior of PV when object input source fails • Mark value as BAD, but do not change value to “NaN” • PV Time Stamp on PV Change • Operator Safety Tags • Eight (8) New Operator Tags with TagComments & times • Further enhanced in the HMI Enhanced Tagging Component • Hot Line Tagging Unidirectional Tagging • Alarm and Event Enhancements • Concept of Alarm and Event Direction (i.e. alarm on open, alarm on close, alarm on transition, alarm on off-normal, alarm on return to normal, etc.) • Ability to inhibit event by operator • Software Tags • Eight (8) User defined quality bits, used on per-project basis

  26. SCADA New Objects • $SCADAAccumulator • Pulse Counter Handling • Interval total + rollover • Time Monitor • Ensure all network elements in Time Sync • NTP Server + NTP Client for network sync • Derived SCADA Objects (i.e. utilizes the full derivation and templating power of ArchestrA) • PostEvent • Post disturbance report • SCADAEventLogger • Build ad-hoc queries for alarms/events files • SCADA + SOE Collectors

  28. IPS Confidential Difference between and RTU and PLC PLC has no inbuilt resilience or fall back plan for comms failures or recovery Polling protocols are expected to return information in sequence with the computation cycle RTU is focussed on responding to supervisory control sequences from multiple masters / slaves where comms can fail at any time IP EIA Slave SCADA Communication Protocols User PROGRAM SPACE Supervisory Control Management PROGRAM SPACE Files RTDB Data Event Buffers Files RTDB Time Stamped IO Master Polling Protocols Master SCADA Protocols IO Master Polling Protocols Modbus DF1 Modbus IEC 60870-101 DNP3
