  2. The Legislative Branch • There are two leaders of congress • The vice president leads the senate • And the speaker leads the house of representatives • They also have to print coins and collect taxes • The capital is famous for it’s Iron Dome

The Legislative Branch • The president leads the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. • In 1787 Leaders of the states gathered to write the constitution-a set of principals told how the new nation would be governed. • The Leaders of the states wanted a strong, fair, and nice government. • They also wanted to protect individual freedoms.

  4. The Legislative Branch • George Washington had to say the “Bill of Rights” would become a part of the U.S. Constitution.” • John Adams has to say “Alien and sedition acts past by congress”. • There are 100 senators two from each state.

ExecutiveBranch • The constitution granted specific powers to the president to run our country. • However it did not detail the actual departments that the president would need. • Article II of the constitution created the position of the vice president. • However it did not clearly define the job.

  6. Executive Branch • The president appoints a cabinet. • Leaders and senators approve them. • The president has the final verdict that is reached. • Presidents support the law.

  7. The Judicial Branch • The Judicial Branch oversees the court system of the U.S. court passes. • The Judicial Branch explains the meaning of the constitution and laws passed by congress. • The Supreme court is the head of The Judicial Branch unlike a criminal court, the supreme court rules whether something is constitutional. • Or unconstitutional whether or not it is permitted under the constitution.
