Focus of the presentation Two projects: - “Developing New Creative Management Capacities for Regional Cultural Cooperation between the Kaliningrad Oblast and the Baltic Sea States” (2008-2009) - “Innovative Strategies for Local Development: Capacity Building for Cultural Institutions in the Kaliningrad region” (2006-2007) Partners: Agency for support of cultural initiatives «Tranzit» European Cultural Foundation Ministry of Culture of the Kaliningrtd region Association of Cultural managers Support: European Union + Nordic Council of Ministers How capacity building projects for cultural managers can facilitate mobility and cultural cooperation between Russia and the European Union?

One example of project results :Kaliningrad Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts • In 2009 based on contacts made within the framework of the project, the following has been already implemented beyond the project activities: • 1 visit of 2 KB NCCA employees to Denmark to participate in an event run by a new partner • 5 new partners (Poland, Germany, Lithuania) visited KB NCCA with a view of discussing specific cooperation ideas • 3 new projects implemented in Kaliningrad with participating on 9 artists from the EU • 3 presentations (workshops) in Kaliningrad by artists from Germany and Poland • 3 projects being developed (Sweden, Germany)
