STARS • 65 Schools accredited through the STARS Scheme • 38 Bronze • 13 Silver • 14 Gold • Schools of Excellence – 4 schools gained top awards from Transport for London at City Hall • Queenswell Infant School - Partnership award • Mathilda Marks- Kennedy Jewish Primary School – Walking Award • St Catherine’s RC Primary School – Road Safety award • Foulds Primary School – School of the Region (North London) • New STARS website now live www.staccreditation.org.uk • Competitions, toolkits, Best Practice

  3. Barnet STP Website • Changes are currently being made to reflect STARS criteria • Please continue to upload work to the website • Changes will be demonstrated in March workshops

Regional Enterprise • On 1st October Delegated Regulatory services outsourced to Regional Enterprise (Re) • Re is a joint venture between Capita Symonds (51%) and Barnet Council (49%) • Development and Regulatory Services is the new name for the directorate • School Travel Plans remain within the operations of Highways • You will be kept up to date as changes occur

  5. Change 4 Life • New resources from Change 4 Life • Resource kit for teachers on how to incorporate healthy eating and physical activity into curriculum • A film for use in assemblies

Project Earth Rock • Resources using music to help promote environmental awareness • 2 free lesson plan packages until December 2013 • Project Earth Rock Resource – includes a song teaching video, lesson plans with curriculum, song MP3 file • Animated Earth Tour – Key stage 1 and 2 • Live band plus cartoonist to promote environmental issues and solutions • Each school that hosts gets free Project Earth Rock Resource • Booking from February 2014

Road Safety Updates • Road Safety Week 18th – 24th November - if you have any projects happening, please let us know and don’t forget to upload pictures, work that pupils are doing to the STP website! • JRSO and Modeshifters packs have now been sent to schools • JTA – Junior Travel Ambassador’s is TfL’s version of JRSO and Modeshifters • Barnet School should continue to use JRSO and Modshifters this year. We will start using JTA from September 2014 • Pedestrian Training – Letters have been sent about Spring term bookings • BOBBY Panel have put together a road safety video – available on YouTube - • If you require resources please email Jeffrey Sarpong Road.safety@barnet.gov.uk
