  1. Sentence Pattern #5 – Prepositional Phrase Opener • Prepositions are the “small” words that are ALWAYS followed by an “Object of the Prep”, which is a noun. They give detail to a sentence. They can help describe nouns or verbs. Therefore, as a phrase, they can be adjective phrases OR adverb phrases. They are sometimes known as “BUSY PREPOSITIONS” because they work so much throughout our writing. Write For Power - English Gold
