This study investigates the dynamics of iodine molecules (I2) in argon clusters using pump-probe laser techniques. The pump laser varies from 480 to 700 nm, while the probe predominantly operates at 307 nm, capturing laser-induced fluorescence peaks at 400 nm and 342 nm. The research highlights distinct behaviors of bound B-state and dissociative A-state dynamics, including predissociation and geminate recombination. Both pathways eventually transition to the A state, demonstrating lifetimes ranging from microseconds to potentially milliseconds. Key findings are reported from JK Wang et al. (1995).
