**Section 1.2**Points, Lines, and Planes**Definitions:**A point is a location. It has no size, represented by a small dot and named by a capital letter. Space is the set of all points. A line is a series of points that extends in two opposite directions without end. Named by: any TWO points or a lowercase letter. Name the line: Collinear points are points that lie on the same line.**A few more definitions:**A plane is a flat surface that has no thickness. It contains many lines and extends without end in all directions. You can name a plane by a single capital letter or THREE noncollinear points. Two points or lines are coplanar if they lie in the same plane.**Remember- Coplanar objects (points or lines) are**objects that lie on the same plane. Are the following points coplanar? ABC ? ABCF ? HGFE ? EHCB ? AGF ? CBFH ?
