  2. What is Odyssey? Odyssey is the name given to Lehigh County Court’s new computer system which will be used to access and search for information in the Civil, Family and Probate records of the Court of Common Pleas of Lehigh County. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

What is This Training For? • This is a training program designed to give members of the general public basic instruction in accessing Odyssey and navigating and retrieving Court records using basic search functions. • This training is for anyone interested in knowing how to retrieve Lehigh County’s public court records. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

Instructions for UsingThis Training Program • Please take your time and read all the slides in this program. • The text in the light green boxes is the instructional material written to help you understand the system.   5. Internet Access Account Password Sign On Screen. If you are accessing Odyssey from outside the Courthouse via the Internet, you will already have a personal password. You will access Odyssey through the Lehigh County Home Page. The initial Odyssey screen that you will see will be this Sign on Page. If you are using a public workstation computer in the Clerk of Courts Office, you will skip the Sign on step and be taken directly to the Records Inquiry Screen. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  6. Internet Access Account Password Sign on Screen. For those users with a password, simply type your Lehigh County issued User ID and Password in the correct boxes and click the Sign On Button. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  7. Public Workstations in theClerk of Courts • For those users of the public workstations in Clerk of Courts or other Courthouse office, simply click the button on the screen and you will be taken to the first screen of Odyssey. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  9. Step One in your exploration is to choose a RECORDS DIVISION from the pull down menu. • Pull Down Menu • Selections are: • Civil Records • Marriage License • Register of Wills 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  11. Choose Civil, Family & Probate Case records for docket information. Civil, Family & Probate Case Records is the general information commonly called “The Docket.” 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  12. Choose Civil, Family & Probate Case records for Marriage Licenses. Civil, Family & Probate Case Records is also used to view Marriage License and Register of Wills information. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  13. Choosing Ejectment Search will limit your search to Ejectment Actions. Ejectment Search are those filings dealing only with Ejectment actions. Judgments and Ejectments are within the Civil Records Pull Down Selection. Choose Civil First. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  14. Choosing Judgment Search will limit your search to Judgment filings. Judgments Search are those filings which record judgments entered in this court. Judgments are similar to liens on property.   16. There are three choices of “search by” criteria. • Case Number • Party Name • Attorney Information Clicking a different dot will take you to the search screen for that search criteria. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  18. This is the CASE NUMBER search screen used to locate a specific case by “docket number” such as 1998-c-0453. If you know the case number, type the docket or case number in the box and click SEARCH. Note: The Case Number must be properly formatted with punctuation between the elements.   19. You may LIMIT your Case Number search if you choose by status or date filed. This can be helpful with some cases with multiple counts such as divorce and custody. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

Register of Actions • The Register of Actions is the screen you get after you choose an entry from the search results list. • The Register of Actions is what is commonly called “the docket”. • It is the chronological listing of events in that case. • Events include hearings, such as trials and conferences; other events, such as filing of pleadings, orders and opinions, and purges; and financial information. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  23. This is a Register of Actions for a divorce. Use standard Internet navigation such as scroll bars to view the data. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  25. To search by one party’s name, enter the last and first name of the know party. Middle initial is optional. Again, you may limit by status or date filed. Note: You must enter both a last and first name. You may also search on a Business name using a separate search screen. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  35. Ejectment search options are the same as Civil Cases. Party Name, Case Number and Attorney Information. Ejectment cases are those cases that MAY have affect real property rights of the parties such as mortgage foreclosures, divorces, etc. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  36. Civil RecordsJudgment Search This feature LIMITS the search results to judgments such as State Tax and Criminal liens. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0

  37. Search for Judgments and liens by Party Name or Case Number as you would a civil case. Click the Inactive and Satisfied Judgments box if you want to also retrieve past judgments. 2006 Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Version 1.0
