  7. Objectives

  8. How are we going to do it? Theory and problems Chapter 1: Computer networking and the internet   Chapter 2: The Application layer.  Chapter 3: The Transport layer Chapter 4: The Network layer Chapter 5: The Data link layer • Theory (2 h/w) • Problems (2h/w-alternatively) Room I0.10

  9. Lab Sessions Session 1. Getting used to lab. Session 2. Transport interface programming. Session 3. The Application layer. Session 4. The Transport layer. Session 5. The Network layer. Session 6. The Data link layer. How are we going to do it? Lab G1.31 • Laboratory (2h/w-alternatively) • Previous study • Experimental study • Compulsory!

  10. What are we using? Support material Take notes!

  11. What are we using? Ping Traceroute Routeprint Netstat Arp Wireshark ….. Free distribution tools

  12. What are we using? Real equipment (Intranet)

  13. What are we using? Basic bibliography Internet resources: RFCs (http://www.rfc-es.org/), IEEE (http://www.ieee.org), …

  14. Assesment criteria Continous assessment: Theory and Problems (TPM) Continuous tests (CTM) In theory or problem classes. CTM is a weighted average of the different CTMs Laboratory sessions (LM) Compulsory attendance. Final laboratory test. FM = TPM*0,80 + LM*0,20 Pass!  FM >= 5, TPM >= 4, LM>= 4.

  15. Assesment criteria Official assesment: Theory and problems (TPM) 0-10 Laboratory (LM) Pass or Fail TPM >= 5 and LM >= 5 FM = max (TPM, TPM*0,80 + LM*0,20) NTP >= 5 y NPL = Pass FM = TPM
