  1. Evaluation and Assessment Tom Voge, TRG Adriano Alessandrini, DITS

  2. Contents • Introduction • CyberCars Evaluation • Objectives • Methodology • Activities • INRIA Test-Site • Antibes Test-Site • Other Tests/ Demos • Online-Survey • CyberMove Evaluation …

  3. Introduction [1/2] • Evaluation activities carried out in both projects • Both projects examine CTS, but different focus • Different evaluation categories examined • Different evaluation methodologies used • Ongoing data collection at the Antibes demo (vehicle data, questionnaires)

  4. Introduction [2/2] • Overview:

  5. CyberCars Evaluation Tom Voge, TRG

  6. Objectives • Based on the WPs on state of the art of CTS, on the development of vehicle and infrastructure technology, and for the various dissemination activities, the evaluation will assess: • Safety/ Reliability of the Technology • Comfort/ End-User Acceptance of the System • EU-wide Awareness of CTS Technology

  7. Methodology • The CyberCars evaluation uses a number of public and private sites to collect: • Vehicle Data from Specific Experiments • Vehicle Data from System Operation • Survey Data from System End-Users • Furthermore an Online-Survey will be carried out in order to assess the awareness of CTS

  8. Activities [1/5] • Overview • INRIA Test-Site: - Private Application - Specific Experiments • Antibes Test-Site: - Public Application - Vehicle Data on Operation - User Survey • Other Demos: - Collection of Vehicle/ Survey Data • Online-Survey: - Analyse Awareness of CTS

  9. Activities [2/5] • INRIA-Site • Vehicle data collected from specific experiments • Various different experiments with small no. of trials • Benchmarking of technical results against maximum values reported in the literature, e.g. for • Max. Deceleration/ Acceleration ( Safety) • Max. Jerk ( Comfort)

  10. Comfort Safety

  11. Activities [3/5] • Antibes-Site • System Data collected on operation, including e.g.: • Acceleration/ Deceleration • Jerk • Speed/ Speed Profiles • Vehicle Status/ Stops • End-user survey (questionnaires) for perception and comfort of the system (technology-related)

  12. Activities [4/5] • Other Tests/ Demos • CRF carried out a number of specific test for obstacle detection using radar technology on a private test-site • Results are going to be benchmarked against max. values reported in the literature, e.g. for driver assistance systems • Analysis of additional tests and demonstrations, which were not part of the evaluation plan (e.g. Floriade, Biarritz)

  13. No changes noticeable

  14. Activities [5/5] • Online-Survey • To assess EU-wide awareness of CTS technology • Effectiveness of dissemination activities, e.g.: • Project Website • Publications • Conferences/ Seminars • Internet-based questionnaire circulated to decision-makers, technology providers, public transport operators and researchers

  15. CyberMove Evaluation Adriano Alessandrini, DITS
