  2. God Calls Sinners to be Saved, Acts 2:39 • Christians are “the called of Jesus Christ”, Romans 1:6-7 • Christ calls the lost to Himself through His gospel, Matt. 11:28-30; 2 Ths. 2:13-14

  3. Come to Me:The Call of Salvation, Matt. 11:28 • The gospel call to be saved from sin, Acts 2:37-41 • Answer His call to have your sin removed, Luke 5:27-32 • Rest: Fellowship in God’s kingdom and glory and the promise of an eternal inheritance (1 Cor. 1:9; 1 Ths. 2:12; Heb. 9:15) • Personal obligation to answer His call, Lk. 14:15-24; Rom. 10:13-15 (9-10)

Learn from Me: The Call to Submission, Matt. 11:29 • Christ’s yoke: Submission to His authority, Matt. 28:18-19 • Needful before Christ and toward others, Eph. 4:1-2; 5:21 • Answering Christ’s call is of no value without fully submitting to Him in all things, Gal. 5:7 • Necessary to learn truth, Eph. 4:20-21 • Necessary to respect Him as Lord, 1 Pet. 3:15

Deny self and count all things loss to gain Christ, Phil. 3:7-8 • Priority (8:21-22), Lk. 14:26, 33. Requires planning, resolve and commitment, Lk. 9:61-62 • A call of assurance, Rom. 8:28-30 • Secure your calling and election by faithful growth to maturity, 2 Pet. 1:10 (5-9); Eph. 4:1 • Must be trustworthy disciples, 1 Pet. 2:9-10

  6. God continues to call sinners through Christ to… • Salvation, submission and faithful discipleship • Answer God’s call today and be saved from your sins “Press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 3:14)
