The Rajasthan Pushkar Fair, or Rajasthan Pushkar ka Mela, is the annual 5 days camel and livestock fair, held in the town of Pushkar in the state of Rajasthan, India. Pushkar fair is one of the world's famous camel fairs, and apart from buying and selling of livestock it has become an important tourist destination and its highlights have become competitions such as the "matka phod", "longest moustache", and "bridal competition" are the main draws for this fair which attracts thousands of tourists. In recent years the fair has also included an exhibition cricket match between the local Pushkar club and a team of random foreign tourists. The Imperial Gazetteer of India mentions an attendance of 100,000 pilgrims in early 1900s. The festival Thousands of people go to the banks of the Pushkar Lake where the fair takes place. 3. RAJASTHAN PUSHKAR FAIR MELA 2013 My experience at the Pushkar Mela earlier this month was definitely unexpected. In all honesty, I guess I should have known better. I went there with the expectation to capture a town lost in time, an event that would bring back memories of the old days gone by and boy, how wrong I was. The Mela turned out to be a hunting ground for photographers from all over the world.

  4. RAJASTHAN PUSHKAR FAIR MELA 2012 Rajasthan’s most famous festival is less and less about the eponymous camels and more about a rollickin’ good time, though the dunes outside of Pushkar are still a sight (and a smell) to behold when the cameleers come to town. Drawing in 50,000 camels and 200,000 people For more information visit our website http://goo.gl/ntlKf7
