  7. A Two Year Plan

  8. ACCESS DINGHIES Sailing Access dinghies at CVSS Sailing for People with Disabilities

  9. Why choose Access Dinghies? Access dinghies are stable because of their hull design, heavy keels, small rudder, sails and the low seating position of the crew

  12. Access dinghies are easy to sail The stability of the dinghies and the ability to reef the sails (make them smaller) means the boats are easy to sail The boats are steered using a joy stick in front of the crew –push left to go left, right to go right

  13. The Joy Stick Control Image Removed

  14. We can use different types of seat to offer different levels of support to the crew - and insert padding to increase comfort

  15. Single seat access with supportive large seat

  16. We can assist boarding using a hoist or slider boards Image Removed

  17. CVSS Sailors Age range 2yrs 10 months - 85 yrs in 2013 In 2012 300+ individuals sailed with CVSS Have a wide range of abilities and disabilities Come to CVSS with their friends and family, their schools , their care home, Mencap – or drive themselves Most didn’t sail before they joined CVSS They say sailing is fun, relaxing a challenge or a freedom they find difficult to find elsewhere - when they are in an Access boat they aren’t disabled

  18. ACCESS DINGHIES Access 303 dinghies (double seat boat) cost approx £7,000 with sails, a cover and a launching trolley They are made in the UK by Sawford Marine The Sailing for All website shows the boats and some footage of sailing – CVSS uses Access 203 and 303 boats www.sailingforall.com It’s easy to sail an Access dinghy AND there are National and International racing series for keen, competent sailors to enter- one adult member of CVSS is racing in Europe this year.
