Rubidium is a highly unstable alkali metal known for its violent reactions with water and its presence in Earth's crust. This toxic element can ignite spontaneously in air and causes skin irritation on contact. Notably, rubidium can create a reddish-violet flame and is utilized in specialized applications such as fire extinguishers, atomic clocks, and specialty glasses. Its unique qualities, including softness and distinct reactivity, inspired my artistic work, reflecting the fascinating nature of alkali metals and their diverse uses.

  1. Rubidium is a very unstable element. It reacts violently to water and is found in the center of earth's crust. Rubidium is sometimes known to ignite spoRubidium is used rarely and is very toxic. If it is contacted with human skin, it can irritate and burn. Rubidium is also a salt that could turn flame into a reddish violet color. Rubidium is used in different ways like fire extinguishers, in atomic clocks, and special glasses.ntaneously in air. I chose rubidium because I knew I wanted an alkali metal, which is interesting to me because they're all the same but different. Rubidium relates to me because it has many unique qualities like softness, and is used in special tasks. For my art work I was inspired by it's unique uses and soft color.
