  1. It might be tough to manage taxation in your ecommerce store products, especially when you’re selling a variety of products. Tax rules determine how tax will be applied on each order that is placed in your spree commerce store. Despite other ecommerce platforms, adding tax properties is uncomplicated if you own a spree commerce store.

  2. Following is the step by step tutorial to add taxes in spree commerce store. All further mentioned points are general guidelines. Results may vary between different Spree installations.

  3. At first, we’ll create a tax category

  4. STEP 1 Login to your spree commerce store’s admin panel.

  5. STEP 2 On the left sidebar, go to Configurations > Tax Categories.

  6. STEP 3 On the right side, click “New Tax Category”

  7. STEP 4 Give your category a name, tax code and description.

  8. STEP 5 Choose whether you want that tax category to be used as default or not then click “Create”.

  9. Now you’ll need to create Tax Rates

  10. STEP 6 Go to Configurations > Tax Rates.

  11. STEP 7 On the right side, click “New Tax Rate”.

  12. STEP 8 Input the fields for Name, Zone and Rate.

  13. STEP 9 Choose the tax category that you created earlier and check if it has to be included in price or not.

  14. STEP 10 Select the calculator as per your store and click “Create”.
