Sublimation printing is an advanced printing process in which a specially prepared transfer paper (containing ink) is used to print the design onto a fabric. The ink does not soak into the fabric, but rather stays on the surface of the fabric like a stencil. The heat press applies pressure and heat to transfer the image from the paper to the garment. Sublimation has many advantages over traditional screen printing, heat transfers and embroidery. It provides excellent color reproduction, intricate detail and high quality imagery that cannot be achieved by other methods. Sublimation also allows for much greater flexibility in design creation.
