Adaptation of some cold tolerant Rice genotypes in Haor areas of Bangladesh

Rice is the most important staple crops of Bangladesh. In the haor (low lying) areas of Bangladesh, early planted dry season (Novemberu2013May) rice has to face cold stress at the early seedling to reproductive stages. The growers of the haor areas consider their dry season rice as a chance crop as it might encounter the flash flood at the maturity stage. Three cold tolerant advanced lines IR100722-B-B-B-B-11, IR100723-B-B-B-B-61, TP16199 along with BRRI dhan28 and BRRI dhan67 as checks were evaluated in ten locations especially haor areas in Bangladesh during the dry season 2021-22.
