  2. Hero Lesson Objective Today’s objective is that you make the choice to be a hero and do the right thing when you see something wrong.

  3. Create partners, identify “one” and “two.” Respond to the prompt written below. Number two share first. Then number one. • With your partner define “hero.” What makes a hero? Who can be a hero? Have you ever been a hero? Hero Pair-Share

  4. Pair-Share Protocol 1. Demonstrate respect by listening actively and being courteous (four L’s plus “thanks”): *Look: face partner, make eye contact *Lean: lean forward and nod as appropriate. *Listen: demonstrate listening by repeating, summarizing or commenting on some of what your partner said prior to speaking. *Low Voice: use a partner voice—loud enough for your partner but not others, to hear. *Thanks: Thank your partner for sharing his/her ideas. 2. Be prepared to share either your own or your partner’s idea. 3. Share out with the class.

  5. Hero Video Watch and listen to the video. As you watch, pay attention to the way a hero is described and how that description applies to you. Play Video (downloaded from website)

  6. Hero by Superchick Directions: On scratch paper, write nonstop without concern for writing conventions as you reflect on yourself as a hero. 1. According to the video, what is a hero? What would you have to do to be a hero? With regard to bullying, what is the right thing to do? How canyou be a hero for someone else when it comes to bullying?

  7. MoreHero Talk Pair-share: Share your responses with your partner… How can you be a hero? What will you do to help? Number two share first. Then number one.
