Not Everyone Is Going To Heaven Mt 7:21 • “Kingdom of heaven” = the eternal kingdom, eternal reward cp. Mt 5:11-12 • The present kingdom (church) that will eventually be delivered up to the Father 1 Cor 15:24-26
Not Everyone Is Going To Heaven Mt 7:21 • The everlasting kingdom whose entrance is “supplied” 2 Pet 1:11 • In contrast to most funeral sermons, Jesus says not everyone will go to heaven • Refutes the doctrine of “universal salvation”

Doing The Father’s Will Gets One To Heaven Mt 7:21 • This is the concept of obedience • Compliance, submission to a higher will • Obedience has become an “offensive” word in our culture • No one wants to be obedient, submissive

Doing The Father’s Will Gets One To Heaven Mt 7:21 • How do we reach heaven? • By doing His will out of love for Him • Our attitude determines whether or not we see His commands as “burdensome” 1 Jn 5:3 cp. Gen 29:15-20
Conclusion • We’re emphasizing reaching heaven…not being on the right side of a doctrinal debate • We’re discussing the 1 thing that matters • To miss this is to fail most miserably in life • We must understand, practice this concept of obedience
Conclusion • Simply saying some “magic words” that sound good won’t get 1 soul to heaven • Doing things we think are “religious” without first checking to see if the Lord approves won’t get 1 soul to heaven
Conclusion • Submitting our will to the Father’s will and doing what we know He approves won’t just get 1 soul to heaven…it will get every soul to heaven • Have you & I learned the concept of obedience?
