UKLO History and experience regarding LL, career center and alumni. • While UKLOwas not integrated - each faculty has its own policy • no at the University level • After the new HEL, at 2008 UKLO • Adopted a Program for cooperation with the economy (companies) • Established a Center for cooperation with the economy (companies)

The Program presents a broader approach to cooperation that includes: • Development of the cooperation among UKLO and the economy in: • Creation and realization of curricula and syllabi • The process of Continuous education • The process of professional development of the students • Providing scholarships for students • Employment of the graduates • Creating and developing institutional forms for supporting the cooperation between UKLO and economy • Involving the local self-government regarding the local economic development projects

  4. Legal framework in support of the establishment of UKLO Career, LLL and Alumni Centre • National legislation (Law on Higher Education, Law on Adult Education) • University regulation (University Statute, Four-year Strategy of Development, Action Plan for 2011/2012) www.uklo.edu.mk

MISSION The mission of the new University structure (KREDO) in our knowledge based society is to educate and connect different target groups with educational, training, career and job opportunities by providing UKLO students, graduates, alumni, faculties and staff, as well as the employers, with expert advising related to development of educational and career goals combined with a wide range of skills and job search strategies necessary in managing their professional and academic projects. www.uklo.edu.mk

VISION ……By preparing students to manage their professional and academic development, by being premier source for targeted employers seeking undergraduates, graduates and alumni, KREDO will serve to facilitate the students' and graduates' transition from University to a productive career and vice versa, will make easier the continuing educational and training prospective for the targets outside the University.

Aim • The main aim of the services and activities offered through this Center ( as an integral University structure committed to meeting European HE standards and Bologna principles in every segment of its functioning,) is to increase the awarenessabout its importance among the academic community and the external world, involving the concept of life-long learning and creating links with the business environment and the institutions of the system.

  10. Weaknesses • Partial University integration due to non-existence of a national supporting system • Insufficiently developed system of LLL • Lack of institutional systematic approach for organizing LLL, Alumni, Career Development activities

  11. Opportunities • Support from HEIs • University autonomy • Well-established relations with the business sector and institutions, locally and nationally • Interest shown by the business community and other institutions • The concept of integration

  12. Threats • Low level of awareness about the necessity and usefulness of this type of activity • High unemployment rate • Unclear value system

  13. Strategy • To develop an Integral system – KREDO consisted of three subsystems: LLL, Career Center and Alumni • Through taking advantages from the strengts and opportunities • Through examples of best practices from EU Universities
