(Acts 2:38) • Does the Holy Spirit still do miracles today?

For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

Acts 2:32-33 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.

Holy Spirit’s Work • Revelation • Confirmation • Show God’s Power How was the Holy Spirit Received? • Apostles perform miracles • Acts 3 Peter and John heal the lame man • Acts 4:30 During their prayer for boldness they speak of healing • Acts 5:12 By the hands of the Apostles many signs • Acts 6 • Stephen – a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit – though there is no record of him doing miracles. • Apostles lay their hands on the seven and in the next few verses (v. 8) Stephen is doing miracles

Holy Spirit’s Work • Revelation • Confirmation • Show God’s Power How was the Holy Spirit Received? • Acts 8 • Phillip is performing miracles • Simon the Sorcerer believes **** • Apostles sent Peter and John when they heard many in Samaria had believed • Why (v. 15)? • How (v. 16-17)? • Why didn’t Phillip do it? • What does Simon notice and point out for us in (v. 18-19) • Acts 19:6 – Paul lays his hands on those at Ephesus The laying on of an Apostles hands

Holy Spirit’s Work • Revelation • Confirmation • Show God’s Power How was the Holy Spirit Received? • Gentiles in Acts 10 • Cornelius sees and Angel • Peter has a vision (receives a message from God) • “Spirit revealed” (v. 19) and “God said” (v. 28) (1 Co. 2:10) • While Peter spoke the Holy Spirit fell on them • Who else received the Spirit this way? • Does this mean Cornelius is an apostle now? • Did God put his stamp of approval on the Gentiles? • Then they were baptized for remission of sins.

Could Phillip? • In Galatians Paul makes a point he received his calling, gospel (I am adding Holy Spirit Baptism) from Jesus

But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.  • 9. For we know in part and we prophesy in part.  • 10. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.  • What can the perfect be? • 13. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. • Jesus return to earth? • The complete revelation? No Yes
