  3. Featured Resource of the Month Online Membership Registration Training Guides Take a tour of online membership registration. Training guides and videos are available for adult membership registration, girl membership registration, and the online Troop Management tool: http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/registration-instructions.

  4. Early Bird Registration: Register for the 2012-2013 membership year from April 14 – June 15 to participate in early registration. Each girl registered by June 15 will receive a patch (adults can purchase a patch for $1). Annual Troop Reports must be submitted by June 15 to qualify. • Annual Troop Reports must be submitted by June 15. Talk to your Membership Manager if you have questions about how to complete this form - http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/forms. • Retail Shop: The spring catalog is now available: http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/virtual-catalog • The travelling shop will be at all Springaganzas!

There is a new patch program for every level of Girl Scouts called “Include ALL Girls”.  This patch program is specifically designed for thinking about including all girls who have special needs ranging from ADHD to Blindness. Check it out at: http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/inclusion Coming April 1, new Spanish language program materials will be available for purchase. These books are for Brownie and Junior girls and their parents. They include information about Journeys, the cookie program, awards, and the full requirements for 5 badges. If you know of families who would benefit from these resources, please email paraespanol@gscolorado.org and we’ll let you know when they are available.

  6. Read our latest Alumni Newsletter: http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/donors/alumnae Partnership with VFW: Girl Scouts of Colorado is working on a partnership with the Veteran of Foreign Wars. If you are already collaborating with a local VFW, please let your Membership Manager know. Watch for more information about this potential partner! A new study has been released from the Girl Scout Research Institute; Generation STEM: What Girls Say about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. This study shows that 74 percent of teen girls are interested in STEM subjects and the general field of study. Further, a high 82 percent of girls see themselves as "smart enough to have a career in STEM." And yet, few girls consider it their number-one career option: 81 percent of girls interested in STEM are interested in pursuing STEM careers, but only 13 percent say it's their first choice.

  8. Volunteer Services Updates • Registration for Springaganza is now live! • Register by 10 p.m. March 16 for an Early Bird Discount. Product Sales Updates • Cookie Activity Wrap Up – Important Dates • March 5 - Money due from parents • March 11 – Girl recognition information must be entered • March 14 - Problem reports due • March 14 - Deadline for submitting problems that would affect the debit from the Troop’s account • March 21 – Troop debit • March 30 – Completion of evaluation • Reimbursement for NSF checks: NSF checks need to be submitted within 14 days of the troop receiving the returned check with the completed form (the form can be found on the GSCO web site). • http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/volunteers/cookies

Program Updates • STEM Video Game Challenge: Girl Scouts of the USA is proud to be an outreach partner with the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop and E-Line Media to introduce the second annual National STEM Video Game Challenge open to Girl Scouts! This challenge invites game makers to show their passion for playing and making video games and aims to motivate children's interests in STEM. Up for grabs is almost $200,000 in cash and prizes, with multiple ways to win! The entry period is open through March 12th, 2012. For details, email beth.ryan@gscolorado.org. • EF Tours London – Lucerne: Summer 2013- Registration still open! http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/events/59 • Join us at Earth Hour events in Colorado Springs and Fort Collins on Saturday, March 31 from 8:30-9:30pm MST. These events are open to all Girl Scouts, friends, family and the community at large. • Register for Colorado Springs: http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/events/442 • Register for Fort Collins: http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/events/433 • The Women’s Foundation of Colorado 2012 Girls’ Leadership Council Program – Through a competitive application and review process, ten high school sophomore girls will be invited to participate in a one week intensive residential summer program on the University of Denver campus.
