Approach: – Use flow and recirculation reactors spanning 0.1-100 atm– Emphasize study of structure of catalysts and membranes and functional mechanisms– Utilize advanced spectroscopic techniques, including laser Raman spectroscopy, NMR, EXAFS, and XANES. – Focus on in situ techniques, kinetics, and isotopic studies – Augment understanding using Gaussian cluster calculations – Combine fundamental studies with practical applications
