  3. The Turnitin Inbox STAFF: Why are some of my students missing from the Turnitin inbox list? • Press ‘Roster Sync’ link in the Turnitin inbox. • When you create the assignment • 2 days before the assignment due date • If you know class enrolments have changed elearning@manchester.ac.uk

  4. Late submissions and extensions Q2 STAFF: should students with an extension to their coursework submit into the main inbox? Q1 STAFF: Should I allow for late submissions? • Yes, allowing for late submissions is recommended • Tii alerts you to work submitted after the due date but does not automatically mark the submission down • You can submit on behalf of the student should wrong settings be selected • For extensions to coursework create a new assignment inbox for those affected. You can then • keep your 15 working days marking gap • maintain anonymity elearning@manchester.ac.uk

  5. Submission errors STUDENT: I submitted the wrong document. Can I replace it with the right file? • Yes, student can resubmit the correct file, but only if the Generate an Originality Report is set to: • ‘on due date’ (strongly recommended setting) OR • ‘immediately, can overwrite reports until due date’ (Can produce falsely high similarity indices). • Otherwise staff can submit on students behalf, if necessary. elearning@manchester.ac.uk
