MISSION The mission of Newington Public Schools, an educational partnership of school, family and community is to ensure every student acquires the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to learn, live a productive life, and contribute to a diverse rapidly changing society. This is accomplished within a caring environment through a planned program of quality learning experiences that challenge and encourage each individual to reach full potential.

    3. District Goal Student achievement will increase through high expectations supported by consistent, comprehensive focus on teaching and learning; by building capacity within the district to support and nurture a continuum of learning through the implementation of research-based practices and assessment; by ensuring every student is educated in a safe, welcoming learning environment that supports respect, responsibility, and acceptance of differences; and by fostering parent engagement and community partnerships to support learning; as measured by student performance among the students who have attended Newington Public Schools for three years. The percentage of all students, including subgroups, reaching the goal levels will exceed the average of the DRG.

    15. Professional Learning Communities Use common planning time regularly and consistently to analyze data, student work, develop action plans, and monitor progress. Engage in dialogue and collaboration through means such as instructional rounds, classroom visits, and professional learning communities.
