Empowering Heartside: Food Recovery & Nutrition Education for a Healthier Community

The Heartside Gleaning Initiative aims to combat food insecurity and promote healthy eating in the Heartside community. With over 100 billion pounds of food wasted annually in the U.S., we address the needs of a neighborhood where 80% face food insecurity and 45% live below the poverty line. Our program focuses on improving access to healthy food through gleaning, alongside nutrition education to empower residents to make better food choices. Join us in building a stronger, healthier local food system and support those in need.
