  9. God is for us Jer 32:36-41 “You are saying about this city, ‘By the sword, famine and plague it will be handed over to the king of Babylon’; but this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 37I will surely gather them from all the lands where I banish them in my furious anger and great wrath; I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety. 38They will be my people, and I will be their God. 39I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me for their own good and the good of their children after them. 40I will make an everlasting covenant with them:I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. 41I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.

  10. Big words!

  11. Big words! Rom 3:23-25 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.

  15. 1John 2:1-2 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

  16. 1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  17. Rom 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

  18. Rom 8:31-39 Paul’s Big Questions

  19. Question 1 - v31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

  20. Question 2 - v32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

  21. Question 3 - v33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.

  22. Question 4 - v34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

  23. Question 5 - v35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

  24. Conclusion 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am absolutely convinced, persuaded beyond doubt that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
