  11. The 1960s • While rock and R&B (mostly Motown) dominate, some cheesier pop songs thrill audiences. • The Beatles- 20 #1 hits from 1964 to 1970. • 45s (singles) dominate the beginning of the 60s, but LPs (albums) allow for artists to make more music at a time.
