Recap… • Website backed up as zip file • Entire website in “oldweb” folder in “web” • “sampleindex.htm” links to “sampleabout.htm” and “sampleteach.htm” and “http://www.msu.edu” • All 3 pages based on “sample.dwt” • Verify your site exists and links properly: Go to http://www.msu.edu/~NETID/sampleindex.htm

  4. Practice Changing Sample Template • Start Dreamweaver and create a new site (connect it to your AFS) • Change sample template: • Change text and background colors • Add at least one image • Alter the page layout (e.g. “set” a column’s width) • Save changes to template, update and upload all files

  6. Design Your Own Template • Consider template design as the basis for your personal website • What does it need to include? • Check requirements online • Layout a simple schematic • How was your site structured before? • Comments from 407 assignment • Look for holes and awkward designs
