Using Less, Living Better

This action plan addresses the impact of climate change on ecosystems in West Sussex, aiming to reduce 13.7 million tonnes of greenhouse gases from human activity. It focuses on priorities for action, embedding sustainable practices in county policies and proposals, stimulating local innovation, and joining up community initiatives. Key stakeholders such as Tony Whitbread of SWT, Simon Catford of Viridor, Sandra Norval of Southern Railway, Robert Harley of Ardenham Energy, and Rosemary Moon of Moonbites are involved in delivery groups working towards a 50% reduction of the carbon footprint by 2025. The plan includes strategies for low carbon buildings, local food networks, sustainable transport, renewable energy solutions, and developing new technologies to drive sustainability and create new job opportunities, ultimately strengthening the economy. Current progress and future priorities are shared among stakeholders for collaborative action.
