Empowering SMEs: The Swiss SME-IP Project for Intellectual Property Advocacy

The SME-IP Project, launched in March 2007 by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, aims to enhance awareness and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in utilizing intellectual property rights (IPR). Through commissioned studies, the project identified that two-thirds of Swiss SMEs do not use IPR. To combat this, the SME-IP Project developed new services, including an IP Advisory Network, enhanced visibility of IPI services, and tailored training for SMEs.
