Interesting Facts • The star Acrux is part of the constellation crux, also called the southern cross. • It is one of the 20 brightest stars in the sky. • It is located about 370 light-years away. • Acrux’s apparent magnitude is measured at 0.86. • People in the northern hemisphere can’t see the southern cross because of earth’s rotation.
